07-09-2009 INVITATION: TRANSART09, BOZEN
Within the framework of Transart 2009, ewo – as a supporter of art – presents two international art projects. Together with Julian Koschwitz, a light installation will be displayed in front of the Ex-Alumix during the 4-week duration of the festival. This will act as a visual reference on the subject of water. Ewo presents another project with Takayuki Fujimoto and will take over the stage lighting and light production of the theatre play ‘Jopas’ by the South Tyrolean choreographer Veronika Riz.

In the joint project ‘goccia a goccia‘, the artist Julian Koschwitz creates a direct link to the subject of ‘A shortage of raw materials’ and explores the issue of apparent complacency in using water in the First World.
The second project supported by ewo comprises the stage lighting and light production of the theatre play ‘Jopas’. In a 3-day workshop, this project will be prepared and put in action together with the Japanese lighting designer Fujimoto, as well as students of the Faculty for Design and Art from Bozen Free University.

Julian Koschwitz:
Born in 1982 in Germany, the artist lives and works in Italy. In 2008, he received his diploma from the Zurich College of Art in conjunction with the Medialab-Prado in Madrid. He works as a designer with ZKM, the Bilgi University in Istanbul, Scholz&Volkmer, as well as a guest lecturer for Interactive Design at the Complutense University in Madrid and the NABA in Milan. Julian Koschwitz received a one year stipendium (10/2008 - 10/2009) from Fabrica – ‘the Benetton Group communications research centre’ in Treviso, Italy.
Further information about the artist can be found at www.koschwitz.org

Takayuki Fujimoto:
The Japanese artist is involved in projects with the performance group Dumb Type and is responsible for the light design during the performances of this dance group. He works together with other international artists and choreographers. Over the last few years, Fujimoto recognised the potential of LED light. In 2007 he formed a technical team together with two other artists and integrated LED light into stage work for his project ‘true‘. The technology enabled him to interact with his audience on stage.
