JYSKE BANK, DENMARK

At a former industrial site in Silkeborg, Denmark, the Jyske Bank had a new company headquarters built for Bankdata, one of its associated companies. The architects created a quiet, friendly building that supports an inspiring working environment at many levels: there is a lot of daylight, the acoustics and climate control were carefully refined, a garden grows in the interior, and outdoors, as well, a comprehensive landscape planting will gradually make the forecourt and the parking areas greener.

This outdoor area has been arranged in both physical and lighting terms by ewo’s FA system: “We wanted to support the particular character of the building and create something that fit,” said landscape architect Susan Honoré Nielsen. This system connects perfectly with the building.” In their materiality, the bollard and pole-mounted lighting continue the formative element of the façade arrangement – they are made of COR - TEN steel. With this alloy, which has been available since 2016 for our EL and FA systems, an extremely robust insulating layer is located under a thin, organic, and warm-hued oxidized layer.

And qualities of ewo products that are located even further in the interior are appreciated on site: “Our geographical location to the far North brings along with it long operating hours for the lights," says John Normann Pedersen, head engineer for the entire electrical installation. “So we need good light, but also light that is energy efficient, thus reducing operating costs and the effects upon the climate.”

The FA system luminaire from ewo with the modular LED lighting unit can be of service with all of these qualities.  Every luminaire can be individually equipped and arranged.  In Silkeborg, the light has been carefully distributed at every point. That ensures both during the evening and at night that the architecture and the premises are perceived as a unit – just the way that during the daytime, the form and materiality of the luminaire are.
